Bounced off Dark Souls and played Elden and bloodnorme yrs later I am back,

And now enjoying it.

Asylum Demon is just a weakass version of those Erdtree dudes. Burned his ass up easy peasy.

Taurus Demon was tougher but he only got me because I already used a nice chunk of my fireballs and flasksand those cheap ass archers. Round 2 I killed em before he spawned and wrecked his ass.

Also the dragon bridge is an cheesy ass way to farm souls lmao. Trigger fun, dash and fall like 4 seconds to the bonfire, climb back up in 10 seconds, rinse and repeat.

After this is Lies of P and Dark Souls 2 and then Dark Souls 3. Maybe Sekiro and that Koei soulslike on Gamepass.

In Elden Ring I started using daggers and magic. Then moved on to Moonveil and sorcery.
In Bloodborne I used threaded cane.
In souls I am using Pyromancy and Hand Axe

It sounds like you're gonna curbstomp this game, but I'm still kind of curious to hear what 1's like after you've already beaten a bunch of the i-frame dodge combat games.

Just beat the Moonlight butterfly which was my third boss.

Pretty easy but also looks pretty and nice music.

Started using Claymore which feels so much better then the hand axe tiny range and jank hitbox

I feel like I am underleveled here but tbh aside from the giant sword n shield knights I can handle all these guys pretty well. Though they aren't crazy hard long as you avoid aggroing other stuff with them. Some chunky and tricky enemies here for sure though and the butterfly dropping 10k souls feels like more of a souls jump then the "intended" third boss would have as Taurus was only ~3k.

This place is cool AF. Lots of cool ass enemies and glowy mushrooms at night is always a win.

That Hydra thing killed one of the golems for me lol. Those crystal golem dudes are really fun to fight.

Got revenge on that bigass dude in the spiral tower.

He absolutely wrecked my shit whenI was ~level 6 and all I had was a hand axe.

Way too chunky for me then.

But now? VENGEANCE.

I also realized how easy he is to backstab. Used to needing to stealth in Elden ring/visceral mechanics in bloodborne.

I think you might be able to do that in Elden Ring too? It's just hard.

Its still useful but the claymore is my main thing now.

Well I feel bad interfering with your first playthrough by outright telling you things but...
Yep. You were supposed to go to a Fire Keeper and have them use it to upgrade your heal.

Capra demon was annoying(Such a small narrow room and some random ass dogs)

Dead first try though. In a bigger room he wouldn't be shit tbh.

I am slightly OP as I seem to have gone off the path...at least as much as there is one. This game feels is almost as non linear as Elden Ring tons of shortcuts, skips and alternate routes.

Default armor except I am using that cool ass boar helm. Using Magic Weapon and Fireball.

Gaping dragon was...suprisingly not THAT annoying for a giant boss. Fuckload of HP but his design was cool.

It wasn't excessively difficult to get out of the way when he lumbers and he has a couple anti ass/back leg hugging moves but they don't just insta happen out of nowhere.

Also his face is a weakpoint giving some incentive to not be an ankle biter I still mostly did that anyways but I did go for his face a few times

Solaire was fucking useless against him though. Bit of a slog but I was expecting so much worse tbh

I've only played Elden Ring, but the impression I get from that game is that the giant bosses are usually the weakest ones, they're just far more annoying to make up for it. It's the ones that are the same size as you that you have to watch out for.

I don't know if this is in later games, but did you know you could have cut Gaping's tail off to get a free weapon?
