The twist.. it has to have come out before 1980.

he just turned seventeen, so he was born in 2006. He was born after Spider-Man one AND two, Star Wars episodes one, two, AND three. The oldest movie he has seen is he has watched most of the first Toy Story but never finished it. This is just context to make you feel old and show you how young this kid is.

You have to show him a movie that hes gonna like, before 1980. What are you going with?

A Clockwork Orange. It's edgy. It's about teens/young adults. It has titties. It checks all the boxes >_>

This was for teens in the 90s. Teens today are different.

Im biased because I love Westerns but

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Once Upon a Time in the West

Or easily a dozen other of my favorite Westerns that comes from the 60s and 50s and a few from the 70s.

But the majority of people, especially young people now dont care about westerns so I would go with something like The Warriors. I think even modern teens would dig something like that.

Not a single bad movie has been suggested in this topic.. however.. I really dont think any of them are the right answer yet.

I think Jordan (thats what Ive named the fictional seventeen year old) is bored with every movie posted.
Ok Ill go in another direction. Comedies hold up quite well over time and for a pre 1980 comedy that I love and think is still funny to this day for all ages:

Id add For a Few Dollars More to this.

I was gonna say Airplane! but that came out in 1980, so instead I'll default to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. If the kid doesn't like that then they're a lost cause anyway.

You have to show a seventeen year, Old boy: a movie that he's gonna like.

Ignoring the rest of the topic, yeah, he probably would like that one!
It depends on his interests.

If he likes comedies there are some real gems like A Boy and His Dog, The Absent-Minded Professor, Monty Python, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and my personal favorite The Court Jester.

For super heroes, there's the originals of Batman and Superman.

There are a bunch of classic musicals like Grease, Paint your Wagon, Willy Wonka, Singing in the Rain, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, and all of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classics.

Horror is not my genre so I wouldn't be good at recommendations, but there are classics like Jaws, Psycho, Rosemary's Baby and the extensive collection of campy Universal Monster flicks (Dracula, The Mummy, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, ect.).

If he couldn't even make it through Toy Story, I don't think there's any hope for him. I probably would have said Rocky, or even 12 Angry Men. Although I guess that would be better for a prompt that required it to be black and white.
