whats the buy in and blind structure like? I would play more tournaments live if most didnt have 15 minute blind levels but then the buy in is too high for tournaments with better structures

15 minute blind levels, 3000 starting chips, 35$, one rebuy. Super cheap tournament, usually 70-120 people play.

guy bust on the first hand, trip sevens queen kicker vs trip sevens king kicker. Crazy first hand.

thats pretty sweet tourney for the price level. You in Vegas? I never seen a live tourney under $60. Usually I late reg for tourneys with 15 min blind structure, I feel it gives me an advantage in push/fold situations

You can open your range in a donkament and play your position. You should open almost any 2 in cutoff or button.

How quaint.

I like 15 minute blinds, 20 tops. Anything longer and you basically have to dedicate the whole day if you're surviving or doing well. It's also soul crushing to play for 7 hours only to bubble, I know first hand.

I like a 15 min structure online better because you see many more hands, in live poker especially if you have a bad table the number of hands you can see substantially goes down. Thats why I like late reging those tournaments. And I have also bubbled playing long grueling hours, I know the feel

Oh shit double up already tc? I like how your chips arent on the felt lol

Yeah. Have to pay up for better structures but its usually worth it. I have made a conscious effort to play more tournaments this year and just picked spots with better structures. I had a small cash in the $1500 monster stack at WSOP over the summer and a few other small cashes but no binks yet.

Those low buy in tournaments usually really kill you with the rake. Im ok with fast blinds every once in a while and take some shots in 15 and 20 min blind sattys but cant deal with paying 20 or 30% rake (100+25$ type stuff).

Next on my radar are some events in early January that seem juicy at the Beau Rivage.

GL TC. Run good.

Basically, play in enough volume and the rake will kill you in these smaller stake tourneys where it feels like you see 5 hands a level and youre never close to realizing your edge

Not a double up. Greens are only 25 and blacks are 100, purple 500, yellow 1000

Most people playing in low buyin stuff aren't playing in volume though, it's recreational. If I was seriously making a run at a positive slope then rake would bother me, but I don't mind the fees when I'm in town for weekend and want to splash around getting free drinks.

Played one hand since winning the last two, pocket deuces loses me 600
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/4/4f3ec91c.jpgHavent had a hand worth playing in awhile

drowzees turn
At the first break, basically sitting at the starting amount. Used my add on which I always hate doing, but I usually have a little more of a lead than this.
ughhh I just lost 5200 with pocket sevens to pocket twos
