Watched it yesterday. Great film. I don't usually go out of my way to watch subtitled films, but it was really good. Humans weren't just filler while you waited for the Godzilla scenes. It didn't feel like the budget was very small for what it supposedly was. I went in expecting some scenes to look pretty cheesy compared to modern Hollywood and was willing to be forgiving of it due to the aforementioned budget, but nah, nothing stuck out as being particularly noticeable. It was just well-made all around. Definitely a movie I would recommend to see on the big screen if you get the chance.
I think I like the idea of Gojira more as an antagonist than a protagonist tbh. He's cool either way, but it makes him feel more imposing for you to know that somehow the humans have to defeat him rather than focusing on some other large monster.
