I'm in a few vtuber-specific fan spaces (this topic is one of them) and I'm in a few general interest discussion groups that happen to occasionally watch some vtubers, and the difference in reception of that selen tweet between the two types of places is insane
really wondering if it's vtuber fans being very good at keeping up the appearance of constant positive vibes or if the general culture of "no bad thoughts allowed" in vtuber fanspaces has just turned everyone super naive
It depends on the place.
One facebook community I'm in, is generally super positive, mainly because only the admins can make a new topic post, so the topics are far more controlled.
But there are other communities in facebook where members can also post new topics, and it's not uncommon there to have people (or rather, people with kid-like attitude)
constantly
snark at the vtubers they don't like. It sorta feels toxic at times, so I choose to not join that kind of community.
