Ive just been using it as a remote for streaming and it lasts like three hours on a full charge.

wtf Sony

Dang, and I thought the DualShock 4s battery sucked. Its too bad its getting worse.
This wouldn't be an issue if you gave Sony more money for a spare to switch around.

Mine lasts at least 5 when I'm actively using it to play games
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.
Lame that the battery power gets worse each iteration. I remember it felt like the PS3 controller would last for days.

Mine last 10 hours

I would assume its the touch function that is draining all its battery, because the Switch Pro Controller literally does last days on a battery charge.

Just plug it into a USB port.

The DualSense is my go-to PC controller. I've never had any issues with it.
Thanks for reading!
My PS5 controller sucks when it comes to battery life but what I do is use the charger that came with my Vita. I switch out the one part for the PS5 cord.

Then I can just plug it into the wall next to my couch when I need to charge it while still playing.
Save for your doomed future
Yeah, its pretty bad

Imagine not leaving your controller plugged in all the time for unlimited power! Op get with the times.
Italian, French, German.
Yeah, it's why I got the charging station to swap one controller for another upon depletion.

Yea there's no real defending this. I love my ps5 and use it way more than my Series X, but the Xbox controller is still better in every way, including battery life.
i like rumble feature of dual sense it really enhances gaming for me. i also like its low latency altho idk if it even helps but it is nice to know it has less than 1 ms latency after overclocking it. I also like how quiet it is and i love the feel of the face buttons and tightness of the analog stick. i love its grip as well.

but yeah i wish it had longer battery life, fr.

They're apparently going to release a v2 version with improved battery. Might wanna buy a battery bank if you don't wanna get a spare and cables to stumble upon

The Wii U Pro was so good that the second half of the Wii U everybody including Nintendo making games for the console essentially got rid of any gamepad necessity.

confirmed it's at least a little better than ps4s?
Yeah, it's a pain but I'm pretty used to it. I think the PS4 controller was actually worse but there isn't a dramatic difference between their battery lives.

dual shock 4 was even worse from what i remember. trash battery lasted like a couple hours.

Ive discovered that my DS4 has a great battery life. It lasts at least 2 of my online sessions with my friends, each of which is around 4-5 hours.

The unfortunate thing is that I discovered this because it occasionally disconnects when its plugged in, so I just keep it wireless as much as possible lol. But eh, playing Naoto Kurogane takes a toll on controllers.

Better than the PS4

This.

Worst battery life I ever had was the Wii u controller( though it was surprisingly comfy to hold).

I find the PS5 controller battery to be just enough, but only just.
Life may be like a video game, but how do I get more continues?
It's crazy because the switch pro easily lasts like 20 hours. But I need to charge the PS5 controller after every gaming session.
We all ate the biscuits, Fighter. We can all see through time. [ER]
Mine lasts like two hours
Lancool II | Z690 Tomahawk |12700K | Fuma 2 | RTX 3070Ti | 16GB
3600MHz | FireCuda 530 1TB | Inland NVMe 1TB | RM750x
Turn the rumble motors off and keep light bar to minimum. Mine averages about an okay 5 hours before I have to charge the sucker again which is still ehhh.

I get batteries can become faulty. But at best PS4 controllers lasted several hours? I have one that lasts half that. But those PS3 controllers really would last for a day or two. Or maybe I just used them plugged in more often....

But still something with the lights and the touch technology drains the battery more.

v2 with better battery is coming
Paid for by StarksPAC, a registered 501(c)(4)
Not to mention the drift.

Nintendo gets taken to the fucking cleaners on drift (and rightfully fix them for free), yet nobody has the stones to call out Sony for this shit drift. My second controller is bordering on unusable now because of it.

They're literally making a V2 of the DualSense to fix the battery life issues.

And batteries, can't believe how many disposable ones I've thrown away...

no....that's weird to me. I always left my DS4 plugged in charging when not in use. I put my DS5 on the charging dock when I'm not using it. I have not had issues with any of my controllers running out of juice when using them.

Use Duracell AA Recharge-ables, they are the best on the market in terms of energy capacity.

https://www.amazon.com/Duracell-Rechargeable-AA-Batteries-Count/dp/B00007ISWA

And build the recharger into the controller's battery pack.

This way your controller is a battery Recharger for the specific battery types.

Xbox Elite Series 2 ~35-40 hours
Switch Pro Controller ~40-45 hours
DualSense Edge ~4-6 hours

fucking why Sony? They better put the new battery in the Edge also.

Or they can make a V3 of the Dual Sense controller.

They already are doing that with a V2 to improve battery life.

Who's to say that they can't make a V3 with remove-able AA Recharge-able batteries.

If they did that, I'd buy those in a heart beat.
