I might check it out. I haven't actually seen any comedy for a while. He's in peak form with this one, in my personal opinion. Every segment got a good solid laugh out of me.
Every segmentevvvvery one?
Lazy as fuck trollingAlmost as lazy as Chappelle's comedy special
evvvvery one?Yes, every one.
Yeah it was goodThe delivery of the Titanic joke was so perfect. Even prefacing it saying that only a few people might laugh did nothing but make it funnier when he got to it.
That shit was hilarious. Maybe some of his best work yet.agreed. dude is a legend.

He doesn't really tell jokes anymore, he just tells stories with humor mixed in. I enjoyed it tho... out of curiosity, do you watch a lot of stand up comedy? That's what most of it is.
Him retelling the story of his attack had me in stitches. The rest was average. That was definitely my favorite part. The way he talked about Jamie Foxx and Jon Stewart rushing in was just amazing.
I found it boring and don't think I laughed once. I found "The Closer" hilarious, so this was disappointing.Really? Sorry to hear it wasn't as good for you. I liked this one more than The Closer, personally. A wider range of topics and more outright belly laughs on my end. Not as much serious talk.

It wasn't his best by far, but he's done worse. The beginning is outright bad, but he eventually goes back into more normal type of routines which was solid.I think he's buying jokes from his writers because he can't come up with his original ideas now. That would at least explain why his abrupt shifts have no continuity.
His segues are lazy af in this special though. He'll just straight up change topics in the least natural ways possible. I know it's a small part of comedy, but he usually does fine with it. Instead it's very abrupt shifts to talking about different things in this one
This latest special didn't really have jokes.I disagree, but to each their own.
I'm not going to engage more in this low-effort bait, I'll just leave this here:This guy is spot on. I just want to quote something from that video that really hits the nail on the head:

"It's the exact same trans jokes that every edgy comedian from the late 2000's has been making for like 5 or 6 years now.
So what this shows is that Dave doesn't know, or doesn't care enough about the target of the joke, to find something clever or insightful to say. And he gets away with it because he has now cultivated an audience that also doesn't know or care, and thus thinks it's funny."
Him retelling the story of his attack had me in stitches. The rest was average.
It's a shame because Dave used to be one of my favorite comedians. But his insistence on punching down on transgender people ended that real quick.
Did you prefer when he was punching down on poor, drug addicted black people?Uh oh
What was your favorite joke? The way he described Jamie Foxx, Jon Stewart, and
its was kind of boring like most of his new shitI guess it's just more my style. I also loved Baby J, John Mullaney's post-rehab special, which was a similar format.
Did you prefer when he was punching down on poor, drug addicted black people?Tyrone Biggums? Not really no. I preferred his characters like Leonard Washington and Tron Carter, but he didn't use those very often.

Oh ok. So just when he did over the top, stereotypical black characters. Got it.Ah okay, so that was an attempt at a gotcha, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt at a serious conversation. But yes, as a black man, I found the black characters funny. Sue me

Okay you are allowed to like whatever you want.

Not everyone is entitled to call what they like "good," though.I fundamentally disagree with you, there. A word like "good" is subjective.

You can love Chapelle all you want. It's not good.
