It is not good, in any objective sense of the word.
This depends entirely on an individual's standards, though. Something like "good" is going to vary from person to person. There is no objective measure of whether or not an entertainment product is "good." It is always personal opinion.

For example, I think Batman and Robin is a good movie for a variety of reasons. The movie can be described as cheesy, awkward, and goofy, but I still think it's a good movie regardless. To me, those aspects add to its charm.

You do realize that you cant have your own opinion around here right?

The intenet has broken me, I can only ever laugh at people if they unintentionally fuck up.
Hence why Elon is much funnier than Chappelle.

I love the original Bob Hoskins-led Super Mario Bros movie. Unironically.

You can love Chapelle all you want. It's not good.

My taste is varied. I also enjoy and appreciate critically-acclaimed films. But I'm also willing to admit when there's a thing I like that is objectively bad.

Then again, with your tag, I'm not surprised you're stepping up to defend Gobbie or Chapelle.

You're trying, but failing, to make this some kind of universal truth. Your willingness to accept someone else's flawed logic does not mean that the logic isn't flawed.

You don't have the authority to call something "objectively bad," and neither does anybody else.

Ah, yes.

Raging Bull and Scary Movie 3 are both equally good because people both like them and everything is relative and there is no objective badness ever.

You could just own that you like transphobic trash and low-effort punch-down "comedy." But you're going to stan for it because there is no "objective" bad?

Shit take, dude.

Really the new one right? I thought it was his weakest one. Although that gun knife joke was funny and the only one I can remember.

I actually laughed out loud when he did the paraplegic at an orgry bit. It was average overall imo though.

You're really badly misinterpreting what I'm trying to say. I'm saying that the quality of an entertainment product (or work of art in general) is subjective.

So yes, depending on who you ask, those movies could be considered equally good, or one better than the other, or the opposite. It depends entirely on the person you're asking.

Even putting it to a majority vote for consensus is just compiling a bunch of personal opinions and weighing them against one another.

liking Dave Chapelle does not mean you have good taste either

It had one funny joke. The rest was easily forgettable crap and nonsense rants about people he doesn't like or agree with (mainly trans people).

I do actually feel like Dave is old now

I watch this special called Year of the Dragon.

That shit was really funny

Oh ok. So just when he did over the top, stereotypical black characters. Got it.
Can you point to what's funny about calling trans women men playing pretend? Are we supposed to assume Chappelle is making fun of his own ignorance?

I know Gob can't really tell us what he finds funny about jokes ("Funny man tell joke, joke mean laugh"), so maybe you can.

Chappelle gave me the comedic equivalent of "the ick" when he brought out Elon Musk, then got mad that the audience wasn't hyped to see Elon.

I don't know if I would call it a hang up.

Part of effective comedy is being able to relate to your audience.

I dunno about you, but I can't relate to being buddies with one of the richest people in the world.

Just a matter of perspective, I guess. Either way, famous people knowing famous people isn't something that bothers me.

I never said I found that part funny. My original comment didn't even make mention of that part.

The only parts I commented on was him telling the story of when he was "attacked" on stage at Hollywood Bowl and his Titanic joke.

That was probably the best part of the whole thing.

The Titanic joke itself wasn't funny, but the fact that he knew it wasn't funny to anyone but him and told it anyway somehow made it funnier than it had any business being.

I really wasn't amused by his trans joke stuff in either of his last 2 standups. I felt it was jsut a combination of lazy jokes and straight up hate speech.

I did find his "Alphabet Car" joke funny in his older stand-up, becasue it more played to LGBTQ+ stereotypes than actually masking hate speech as "jokes".

It takes zero effort to be a good person.

Why are you engaging with someone that already attempted a wet fart of a gotcha and is clearly not looking to have a good faith discussion?
