how the fuck are you gonna call it the $1 $2 $3 menu when the cheapest item is $2.69 and everything else is $3-4

Id often treat myself to lunch where Id get one of each of those plus a drink and the total with tax was like $6

that was more like 10-12 years ago but still hurts

Don't eat that shit
The
lol they really should have changed that menu title

to be completely fair, beef is expensive as fuck in the US right now. pork is 50% or less per pound than what beef is right now, so expect the McRib to be in season for a long time this year.

chicken is $2 or less/pound in bulk quantities right now. steak tips are $13/pound.

Remember when Wendys or Arby's or whatever had the Six Dollar Burger for $3.95?
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
mcdonalds dollar menu is only called that cuz all drink sizes are $1.25

Mcdouble and McChicken together should trigger the bogo $1 offer plus you can stack it with the free fries with a purchase offer, add a drink for $1.30 and it comes close to $6 for a decent sized meal. The nugs will have to fuck off though.

It's called that because all that shit used to be a dollar. Now it's just a menu of lies.

Worst part is that it hit the good places too. A nice, fat piece of spanakopita or bougatsa used to cost $2.50, now they're more than twice that. I was fucking full and happy on quality food and dessert and a drink for $6.

Literally nowhere is fast food 20 bucks. Most meals are still around 7-12.

Granted a whopper combo was 3.10 in 2000.

Fast food is a failed business model, they are getting by on nostalgia now basically. People are used to going to fast food places to grab something to eat and they are still doing it... for now
Not to say that I'm in love with you

I was just talking about this irl too. Like theres no point of going to places like McDonalds. Jack in the box cost 16 dollars for a tender combo for me and some egg rolls for my wife. Id rather just go to the more expensive places like jersey mikes, chipotle etc..
Dp45
Even jersey mike's is hot garbage compared to any decent local non-chain restaurant that makes sandwiches.

Why pay for that extremely overpriced for what you get foot long when you can hit up your local place and get a sandwich like this for 13 dollars....
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/8/86aec8d7.jpg

I'm not even lying when I say that costed me 13 dollars. Didn't even need to pay for anything like extra meat, cheese etc. It just comes like that. From a local spot in my in the middle of nowhere town in south carolina.

I do have a jersey mike, jimmy john's, and firehouse subs by me, but each of these places is approaching 16 dollars for a foot long or in jersey mike's case is straight up more than 20 dollars once tax sets in, but both the local sandwich shop and italian spot (their subs costs about 11.60ish for a foot long) just destroys all the chains in everyway.

Ain't even worth bringing up subway.

Around here these days when it comes to the prices it goes mc donalds 2 for 3 deal of wendy's 5 dollar bags (and whatever burger king equivalent is)>local restaurants>=cooking yourself>>>>>fast food app prices>fast food off the menu prices>pizza app prices>>>pizza and/or steakhouse prices>>>>>fancy pants local restaurants.

Theres no sandwich shop that isnt a chain near me within 8 miles

Taco Bells value meal (might be app only), is still a pretty good deal.

a nursing home

I literally ordered pork loins today and the one I usually get was out of stock, as well as my first two backups. been a few months since that happened. so mcdonalds will have all the mcribs 3d printed and ready to ship in 2-3 months.

I do corned beef briskets once a month because they love it but that costs $400 for 100 people for the beef alone.

the steak tips for ~30 people is $145

Ya, could tell from you conversation you knew what you were talking about.
Do you go as far as haggling with your distributors?

And ya, I never understood why Brisket is so pricey...
It can be fun, but the salt is way too much for me.

In personal shopping though I do do a really good job of finding the best deals in the store.
Being able to cook is helpful there.
