Sweet Home season 2... is terrible. (spoilers?)

Season one was fantastic. Season two just decided to do everything it could do to become a tropey mess of "story" telling. I thought I missed a full episode because they didn't even say there was going to be a time jump. But you'd never know it. They killed off every character they could from season one only to replace them with characters I really don't give a shit about. I somehow managed to finish episode 4 and I'm not sure if I can go on.

I stopped around halfway through the season. It's really not good. Feels like a completely different show. It's like the show wanted me to stop caring about every character they worked so hard to develop in the first season. And yeah the time skip was really poorly done and felt unnecessary.

I actually managed to sit through the entire season and it's not worth it. The only plot element somewhat interesting was the new teen girl introduced later in the season.
Not only did they kill off pretty much the entire cast from season 1, everyone but the ballerina girl and the soldier woman get nothing to do at all. Can't recall their names atm, been months since I watched it.
The thing I absolutely hated was the monster designs. The monsters in season 1 looked awesome and there was a reason why each one looked the way it looked. It's why I fell in love with the show. Season 2's monsters look like every generic gray monster in movie and gaming history.

Yes, the first season set the bar pretty high. Lots of fun stuff.

Fun and fresh. its hard to copy your formula, when part of it was FRESH.

You can only have so much fresh stuff, and you start to jump the Shark.

Still a pretty good show as shows go.

if you want to totally waste your time. I watched Another Life last night.

How that ever got the green light, I have no clue.

That's not it at all. The show is based on a manhwa (Korean comic). The first season deviated from that story at times while still following most major story beats. But due to those deviations they had to come up with an entirely original story for season 2 and it's very clear the talent just wasn't there in the writing department . What was good about season 1's writing was because of that manhwa.

I didn't love the first several episodes of season 2. Almost gave it up.

But it kicked up in the latter half of the season and tbh I'm looking forward to a third.

Classic. I feel like this happens every time they accidentally deviate too far from the source material. The hack writers can't pull off something marginally original

I will see it through to the end but I'm at an all time low with the show right now.
