Do you honestly believe a modern turn based Final Fantasy would sell?

Honestly, SE has everything they need to make an amazing action RPG. They just spend too much focusing on the spectacle instead of fine tuning the combat.

Like FF16 was decent, but (spoilers) the eikon system was wasted. Clive gains the power of all of these different summons, but all it does is change the element of his attacks. It should have completely changed his fighting style for each one, to allow for more variety and longer combo chains that aren't tied to his ability cool downs.

And then FF16's other problem is that they turned the big boss battles into cinematic spectacles that take forever to complete. One boss took me nearly 40 minutes, simply because of all of the QTEs and cutscenes it had. It looked cool, but omg I was ready for it to be over like halfway through it. You could tell that those fights are where a lot of the work went into.
