There was just something so appealing about the early gameplay (and slamming Summoned Skull into the opponent's LP)

There are different formats and communities/resources for them. GOAT format was the oldest Ive seen so far but there might be some that are older than that Idk
My expectations they are low
But you're the sun you make them grow
Basically Yu-Gi-Oh is better when it was more simple and basic. I dropped off when they started doing all the synchro monsters. Always writing an essay for one card that wasn't even that easy to put on the field.

That's why I loved Inscryption: kaycees mod so much. Similar to Yu-Gi-Oh with life points but still dynamic interesting card combinations.

I fucking don't but I'm also not brain damaged either. DM era yugioh was legit the worst card game.

Even MTG realized vanillas were fucking boring
If you're so great then why do you corrupt those who are just as great?

I don't see how that era could possibly be worse than this current one where everybody is rolling with decks that win on turn one or two and you're not even really interacting with your opponent outside of trying to interrupt their combo, which if you do means you're probably going to win instead. It's brain dead flow chart nonsense that you could probably teach a crow to play optimally.

Yata-lock, all the hand rip cards, chic-otk, there is always degenerate shit every format, I just prefer Edison format and further, I at least have options and not the same three decks with little variation.

And then the crow gets fucked when they get hand trapped and doesn't know how to play turn 2+.

Yes there is flowchart nonsense but there's a reason why the top players enjoyed the latest tear zero format because it actually showed off skill in the mirror matches.

This is not me trying to fanboy ygo btw. I realize the major flaws the game has. Hell I want to fucking fall asleep when my cousin is doing his 10 minute turn.

Early Yu-Gi-Oh was the bomb. Basically everything up until a bit of gx was still pretty damn fun. Made a ton of friends because of this game, I'll always have fond memories because of it
:)
Modern Yugioh would be fine but shitty banlists holds it back. This is especially true for TCG and Master Duel.

OCG is the real format and I won't pretend its not.
SNARGLEBLAGH
Yeah, I loved early YGO.

Stopped playing around IOC. Took up Pokmon instead. The YGO crowd was a bit shitty to be honest

I've been playing Legacy of the Duelist and Link Summoning is baffling

I just end up playing my old Gagagigo Legendary Ocean deck against the CPU instead

Well I'm certainly being a little hyperbolic in my criticisms, I don't know that saying "look at how much variety there is in these mirror matches" is really the compelling defense you would want to offer.

I dunno much but I heard people say that if you don't pretty much win in your first turn then your deck sucks.

GZ is peek yugioh IMO sure its where archetypes took off and that is a source of issues in modern yugioh

but people where not playing solitaire with mass summonings

master duel shows how little variety there is thoe ppl dont build their own deck they just copy the meta decks
3 things 1. i am female 2. i havea msucle probelm its hard for me to typ well 3.*does her janpuu dance*
For me Yugioh got weird around the Pharaohs Servant (PSV) release.
