It's likely not, but hey it's got women in the lead and no stupid Morbius meme to slightly enhance it's ratings so of course it'll appear lower.

Last night I was lying in bed, staring at the stars, and I wondered... Where the **** is my roof?
I'm just gonna watch it and judge for myself because The Marvels was way better than the online complainers made it out to be

I mean they were in charge of all the spider-man movies and I'd argue that the Venom movies were good for what they were.

Or put Black Cat in a 4th Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. Or maybe make Amazing Spider-Man 3 and let Andrew Garfield date Black Cat

Even the Amazing Spiderman movies were kind of whatever and the Venom movies were fairly mediocre, saved by Tom Hardy's performance. None of the Sony Super Hero movies though are getting rave reviews, except the Sam Raimi's Spiderman films but those were decades ago.

Is the Holland movies part of the Sony own super hero cinematic universe? If so, I would include it but I always thought the Holland movies were part of the MCU, which meant most of the creative minds were probably from Marvel/Disney than Sony. All Sony has is the rights to the IP.

No they weren't. Marvel Studios was in complete creative control of how those movies were made.

I think they STILL couldn't salvage that. It would get to many unfair comparisons to Catwoman, fair or not.

Sony owns the rights to spider-man in TV and movies. they were the producers. those were critical and commercial hits. when we talk about Sony and their super-hero movies, those count as successes.

That's not the point in contention. We're discussing who was actually "in charge" of the Holland films. That was Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios, not Sony.

the post I replied to said "Sony can't win with their superhero movies", but there are Sony-made superhero movies that have "won". either financially or critically. There is zero doubt that the holland spider-man moves were produced by Sony and they made bank. it does not matter who was in charge creatively, Sony "won".

but again, the Venom movies also made bank. are we counting the spider-verse movies as well? the rami trilogy? the point is sony has had successful super-hero movies, with and without marvel studios.

It's pretty damn obvious I was talking about the review scores of their recent movies. If you wanted clarification, just let me know lol.

If you want some middle ground, I thought the Spiderverse movies were fantastic. It's just clear Sony's live action department has been forced to shovel out mediocre movies because of their licensing deal of Spiderman or they'll lose the rights to the IP.

Not always, it isn't. They specifically were hands off for Holland's films. Fiege had complete creative control. He and Sony's president did an interview about how the collaboration came about. F

Sony is STILL the producer. also again, moot point as they had successful super-hero movies without marvel studios involvement.

The most interesting element I heard about this movie is that apparently it's a prequel to Spider-Man. They supposedly have Peter's parents in this. And Peter either isn't born yet or he's a baby. I bet Madam Web sees into the future and a gets a vision of Spider-Man

You are aware that Sony isn't the only producer listed, right? And that the President of the company DIRECTLY said Feige and Marvel Studios had full creative control. Anything else you're saying is wrong. You're basically saying the President of Sony is lying with zero proof.
