one negative impact that happened from the move from dvd to streaming

the loss of movie commentary. Its extremely hard to find anyone who still provides commentary in digital form. You would think it would be easy to do. Just add it as one of the audio tracks like how you can change the spoken language. But nobody really does it.

Commentary, deleted scenes, behind the scenes videos. They'd all be easy to add in.

I feel like they put it in before to help sell dvds but since they dont do that anymore they dont commentate.

Yeah, I do miss all the extras that DVDs had like behind-the-scenes footage, concept art, deleted scenes, director commentary, etc.

Shitty DVD games

I was JUST talking about this at lunch today with a co-worker, about the lost art of the Director's Commentary Track, and the "Disc II Features".

Things like "Making Of" documentaries that were sometimes longer than the movie itself.

I remember Season 2 of the Simpsons DVD had this gimmick where it would rotate all the characters' heads on different bodies a bunch of times before you could get to the episode list and watch the episodes.

It was cute at first, but it got annoying when you already know what it is and had to mash OK a bunch of times until it cycled through all the animations and got to the episode list >_> That I don't miss lol.

Nor do I miss ads and previews on DVDs.

i really miss DVD easter eggs. Like, you had to move through all the options on the DVD until you got a secret spot to light up on the menu.

That and DVD games. The Nightmare on Elm Street collection had a bonus DVD with tons of games on it. It was awesome.

Yeah you could cheat using VLC and just go to the individual feature, but wheres the fun in that?
