Kirby's Dreamland 2
Chrono Trigger
Dragon Quest VI
Megaman X3
Warcraft 2
Tactics Ogre
Earthbound

and thats just the games i like from major releases that year

Strong year, but for me nothing beats the absurd concentration of timeless classics released in 1998.
