We have a lot of small towns around here in my area of the Midwest that have their own meat lockers that make top tier summer sausage. Far better than the national brand stuff in grocery stores.

its the candy corn of meats. You forget you dont like them. So you eat it. You like the first few bites. Then you realize you dont really like it that much.

Im fucking baffled there are people here that havent heard of summer sausage. Like I honestly cant fathom it. I remember it always being a part of my life for like the last 45 years.

I can understand if someone is from a different country but growing up in the U.S. and not even hearing of summer sausage is like not knowing what bologna is. Like I can understand you not liking it but not even knowing what it is? That is what is so baffling to me.

well in my 30 years of life living in New York i have never heard the words summer and sausage in sequence like that, i dunno what to tell ya. different places got different foods and different cultures

Pretty sure every American has gotten one of those gift boxes of summer sausage and cheese for Christmas. That replaced fruitcake as the default American Christmas present decades ago
