I am not going to jail since I don't break the law lol. But if I was unjustly thrown in jail. I think I can make it. As long as they don't find out that I was a CO.. I would be fine. Stand up for yourself. Even if you get beat up that would stop more from coming. The assholes who like to push their weight around don't like to have fights they like beating people. Don't be a snitch <or don't let them catch you being one> buy back what you owe, don't be in there for sick shit, and don't trust anyone.

I drew a bullshit possession and weapons charge earlier this year. Had a container with residue I totally forgot was in there, and the cop nailed me because I had a gun on me (can't have the two together). Hired an attorney it's my first offense and he said I *might* have to do a few days in jail (I was in for two days after my arrest and released). Trial is next month and I've been reading a ton of shit on Quora from people who've served time and basically it sounds like as long as you're respectful , don't get into debt or look for trouble you'll be fine. The worst part of jail was I couldn't sleep; they never turn the lights out in cells and for some fucking reason they were playing rock music over the speakers 24/7, it's almost like they want people on edge so they fight and can extend their stay there

i'm a prime target right now. i'm a softie and i'm soft looking, haven't been in a fight or diligently practiced anything athletic for 20 years. i'd fight back when jumped but it's not like i'm gonna win. it would be up to them whether or not i survived. i could get tougher, and i have athletic capabilities and good reflexes, but i'd have to build up to being able to defend myself.

I spent the first five years of my law career as a public defender. I visited jails and prisons on a daily basis. I can tell you for an absolute fact that I would not survive there for long. There is some rough stuff there that would put me in physical danger I would not be equipped to handle, but the utter tedium of the day to day would also break my spirit.

Country club prisons where famous people go get a lot of press. I have never been to any of those places. The places I were were horrible places that no one would ever want to spend time in. Loud, crowded, palpable tension and horrible smells.

There is a lot of debate to be had around prison reform, but your average prison or jail is a truly awful place.
An opinion does not turn into a fact simply because the person holding it feels strongly about it.
