To start a mission:

  1. Summon a helicopter
  2. Wait 45 to 120 seconds for it to actually show up and land.
  3. Get in.
  4. Wait another 30 to 60 seconds to actually exit the area.
  5. Select the mission from the unnecessary interim menu.
  6. Wait another 30-60 seconds for the chopper to get to the LZ.
  7. Now you can leave.
So much more "cinematic" than just selecting a goddamn icon on the map like everyone else.

I didn't mind Pequod blasting Joy Division as he picked me up.

You can also fast travel by shipping yourself in a box.
