The thing Europeans don't understand about how 12hr time works is that the AM/PM is completely unnecessary. If you ask someone to meet you at 3 and they show up at 3AM, then you're dealing with an idiot and you're better off missing them anyway.
24 hour clock is objectively superior, anybody saying otherwise is wrong.

24 hour clocks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>12 hour clocks.
I always use the 24 hour clock. Can't remember when I last used the 12 hour clock.

16 o clock sounds dumb af
16 o clock sounds dumb afWell yeah... Nobody says that.
16 o clock sounds dumb afOnly if you are not used to it.

"Meet me at 8"Well, are you meeting for a concert or a day trip?
8AM? 8PM? Which one?
Staring directly at the sun and divining the time based on your intuition>>>>>Are you really telling time if you aren't looking into a cat's eyes and figuring it out based on their pupil dilation???
Well, are you meeting for a concert or a day trip?Meeting for the gym.
Meeting for the gym.Is it a work day or the weekend

Is it a work day or the weekendI go to the gym with the bros same times every day

Yeah 24 is the way to go. Especially when you work with people all over the world. It's much easier to calculate the time differences using a 24 hour clock.
Hence why the professionals use it. Military, security, and I assume all emergency services too.
"Meet me at 8" 8AM? 8PM? Which one?Point is to use your brain, people just automatically know whether its AM or PM, no need to think beyond trolling my thread

Meeting for the gym.

umm just use 24hr clocks;)
Okay, meeting a woman for coffee.Medical/military fields use 24Hr time because they operate 24 hours a day. Your example of meet at 8 for coffee is still dead simple, its all about context
Meet at 8.
Seriously though, the reason most emergency services use 24 hour is because that ambiguity is not there. If an EMT says, "He went into cardiac arrest at 22:16 and we applied chest compressions until arriving at the hospital at 22:24, there is no room for mistaking it for AM. If a Doctor says, "administer drug X at 13:00 every day" you don't get the problem of double dosing when a night nurse gets confused and misses the PM on it.
"Meet you at 8 tomorrow for coffee?"Yes. Next
You know which 8 she is talking about?
Point is to use your brain, people just automatically know whether its AM or PM, no need to think beyond trolling my thread
Calm down a bit, no need for trolling accusation. The point was the bolded part above is not automatically true for everyone, regardless of their brain and mental capacity.
If it is for you? Great, more power to you. But if other people don't catch on? The convo I quoted illustrates exactly that and 24 hrs clocks is a legit solution to that.

Yes. NextNope. You showed up 12 hours early. Get back.
Nope. You showed up 12 hours early. Get back.1) nobody meets at 8pm to have coffee
1) nobody meets at 8pm to have coffeeFalse. Here in Korea, majority of my cafe meet ups have been in the evening. Only like thrice in my near two years, have I been to a cafe with someone else in the morning. Did more morning meets in the states, but evening meets weren't uncommon either.
False. Here in Korea, majority of my cafe meet ups have been in the evening. Only like thrice in my near two years, have I been to a cafe with someone else in the morning. Did more morning meets in the states, but evening meets weren't uncommon either.Thats crazy, the more you know. Thats also additional context that would go towards deciding whether its 8pm or 8am. Its also easier to clarify 8pm vs saying meet at 20
I'd honestly like to hear some situations where people can mistake AM and PM.
Please give actual examples.
