No hate just asking question. Like i remember she was pretty big in 2010's then just kinda faded as the mainstream music industry cycle goes, but it seems like she's suddenly huge and her tours and albums suddenly grossing billions in 2023.

Idk maybe i am just out of touch but pop musicians rarely have a comeback let alone this big.

She re-released/re-recorded her old albums due to issues with the rights, which got her a lot of publicity and led to tours etc

Makes sense. I just remember she was big 13 years ago, and one boy at my class back then (in high school) had such an excessive infatuation to her lol

She never faded. What are you talking about about?
Her finally being able to go on a massive tour helps too.

Which CEman is he now?
Not to say that I'm in love with you
but who's to say that I'm not?
The 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore was a huge crossover success. Bringing in people like Justin Vernon from Bon Iver and members of The National let her reach the indie music types while maintaining her previous fans.

Then once there Eras tour launched the Ticketmaster fiasco showed in an even more obvious light how wide her appeal was, so the media ate that up.
I guess I'm something of a ne'er do well.

It's like her one song says: she Stepped It Up.

Her music + marketing
As someone who was incredibly popular for a decent amount of time, she never became unpopular. There was a lapse in attention to her. Reputation got a lot of flak and I didnt hear much about her subsequent releases (though a fan told me that they were pretty good) until folklore and evermore, which like 1989, were cashing in early on new trends and renewed an energy towards her along with a minor persona change, one that wasnt cringey like the Reputation era.
Taylor Swift is really good at marketing her public persona and keeping people interested in it.

She didn't lose popularity. Maybe TC just wasn't talking to the right people. She has consistently been one of the most massive singers on earth for the past 10 years at least
The eras tour is a greatest hits concert bringing together ALL generations who enjoy her music. Then the scalping tickets thing made her even more popular and sought after due to FOMO

The tour and solid PR

Id argue shes more famous than popular
It all returns to nothing
It just keeps tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down. (NGE)
She's always been big but people were thirsting for her to tour again after the Lover tour got cancelled and Eras was brilliantly marketed to be highlights from her entire career.

It doesn't hurt that instead of doing an arena tour with 90 minute, 15 song shows that she went full-bore, 3 1/2 hour, 45 song shows

She's an amazing person, hot af, and cranks out bangers
If anyone disparaged you the way you disparage yourself, I would wish to strike them with an axe
it's like bob dylan except you can listen to it and she can also sing and the songs are good

It's not that she is super popular again. She's somehow more popular than she has ever been. I think the simplest explanation is that she manages to grow her audience with new styles and albums without losing her old one. The momentum has just reached boiling point with this world tour that had pent up demand too.

What does that even mean? I went to her concert the other night and legit almost everyone there was singing every single word to her songs. I have never seen anything like it.

She even pulls out surprise songs that aren't on the set list and most of the audience still knew every word.

I legit have never experienced a concert where the singer was this popular. I went to Katy Perry during her prime and it was nowhere close to that level. Most people there were dressed up in outfits like they were in some Taylor Swift Comic Con too.
A Fallen Mascot
People here acting like she was always as everywhere as she is right now.. She was definitely never not popular, but there are days in recent months where I see three separate Taylor Swift articles on front-page news. That wasn't the case a few years ago.

I think one factor with her that has really helped her momentum recently is social media. She's perhaps the first megastar that has that two way relationship with it.

A song she sings in the concert has a moment where the audience screams "1, 2, 3 Let's Go Bitch!" all because of a viral video clip. It's not in the song itself at all. Yet most people there know to scream it. Swift herself acknowledges it by counting down with her fingers. The concert has several moments like this with the fans.

There's the outfit element too. People dress up for social media and for fun.

Then even though this is some crazy 45 song setlist she picks 2-4 secret songs every night. The audience speculates and anticipates over what gets chosen every single night. Causing the hardcore audience to discuss the tour even if she is long past their city.

In a way it's a musician fully embracing how nerdy hardcore fans are. Which is overall pretty genius. She does this stuff with her marketing too. She really gets how to pander to her fanbase in a way that's usually reserved for nerdy stuff.
