hopefully this version won't be made into a generic swashbuckler like the other, more recent one
I actually like that one. The book is the best version, but I also really like the Gankutsuou manga and anime, and the 2002 film.to each their own, but I feel like it ignored the themes of the book so much that it should have been its own thing.
Cool. Would be great if it gets a wide release.tbh, I'm not familiar with Overland Park, but if it has a good reception, and it doesn't have a wide-release, I might buy it when it comes to Blu-ray/digital.
I don't fuck with Overland Park so if it's not wide release I'll have to wait for streaming :/

I haven't, but I hear it's also pretty well-regarded, and that it did The Count of Monte Cristo in space decades ahead of Gankutsuo (and served as an early prototype for cyberpunk, to boot).
Ever read The Stars My Destination?I've only read the first few chapters, and while I enjoyed what I read, besides the lead wanting revenge, it feels different enough from TCoMC that I wonder how it was influenced by it.

The end result was a book that could be cut down a lot and had a ton of condensed versions.
