Traveling for a gig up in northern California. I'm about 3 miles away from the place I'm staying at when I notice a cop behind me. No big deal, I drive like a grandma. I turn on the road where the place is and for about half a mile I don't see anyone behind me, this is mountain area so there's no light whatsoever, until I hit my brakes cuz of the slick road (guess it rained or snowed earlier) and the bright ass brake lights on this rental illuminate a police sedan following me with his lights off a few dozen feet behind me. Almost shitted my pants.

Eventually I turn into where I'm staying and the cop continues on the road. Dunno if that's something I should be concerned about lol

I HATE people who drive with their headlights off when they should be on.

When I was a newb to driving almost wrecked because of it. Like hurricane level rains and this car with no headlights was gray. Coming down the road as I'm trying to turn into a gas station. Didn't see them until they where like 10 feet away
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process
Reminds me of a story from quite some time ago. A woman is being followed by what looks like a police car for an unusual amount of time with no sirens on. So she calls the actual police and they instruct her to drive to the closest police station, where they had units waiting outside.

Turned out the guy following her was a known serial rapist using a fake police car.

Yeah. My mother has turned away from silver because they blend in with the road and especially the rain too well.

Tbh I didn't think about it being a fake cop car but this is a pretty safe part of California so I think it was just an asshole cop

One thing I do like about my car though is it has auto for lights. I don't really ever have to worry about it.

With my first vehicle I was bad about not turning on headlights if I drove my mom's car because her daytime running lights where brighter than mine being turned on lol. My truck was quite a bit older
