Damn, that is pretty crazy. I wonder if Russia would have done that with just anyone that came there or specifically because they thought since they were Indian they could get away with it. Pretty crazy no matter what.

I don't get why anybody goes to Russia right now, well other than that Canadian Chud family that wanted to get away from the scary gays and trans people because Canada has laws saying that they exist and have rights.
The commercial says that Church isn't for perfect people, I guess that's why I'm an atheist.

Why the fuck would they go to Russia to celebrate New Years. Could have hit China and had a real NY celebration without getting drafted.

Probably because it's cheaper to visit Russia right now? It's of course cheaper for a reason but people often don't consider that.

Cheap vacation with a high risk of being conscripted to fight in an illegal war, versus, a more costly vacation with almost zero chance of being sent to fight.

It's crazy how many people from Asia will excuse/deny all the terrible things about Russia and Putin.

I guess they could just be bots, sure, however whenever I see comments trying to justify/defend either or both, their pictures almost always looks like they come from some Asiatic country. I've also seen African sounding names with accompanying profile pictures doing similar.

I guess it makes sense, they're a lot closer to Russia and so their economies often rely on Russian exports, such as fertilizer. Makes it easier to deny the atrocities of a country when your own benefits so much from your tie to them.

India is long-time geopolitical allies with Russia and they can travel there easily. China is India's 2nd largest geopolitical enemy after Pakistan (who is also allies with China) and they cannot travel there easily. Indians have a very positive opinion of Russia and Russians and a very negative opinion of China and Chinese. Also despite the current narrative being pushed by America, India is no friend of liberal democracy and more than happy to do stuff like assassinate Canadian citizens. Modi used to be sanctioned by the US for overseeing the mass killings of thousands of Muslims. Now that he's president they pretend it never happened and focus on China's treatment of Muslims. It's amazing how India is just the new China for America. Ignore all the bad and pretend they're your friends so you can exploit them for cheap labor.

All countrys should pass laws stating any dumbfuck stupid enough to go to Russia is legally considered dead the government is barred from making any deals to retreive them.

it's far from unheard of, the US got embroiled in this stuff too. a group of Nepalese people got recruited to go work in restaurants in Jordan, and then they had their passports stolen and ended up on an Iraqi airbase working for KBR, one of the US defense contractors in Iraq. up until they got abducted and beheaded by ISIS because they weren't deemed necessary to protect. desperate people promised jobs to get money they can send back home, trafficked into combat because "nobody who matters will miss them"
