I like watching mountain climbing videos. Not rock climbing but people going up K2, Annapurna, or like Everest. Part of me always wanted to try Alpine climbing but never had the money or means to just ditch real life to gain the specialized skills needed.
Then I watch the go pros strapped to these folks sucking down o2 going for summit window that must be completed in 4 hours before a blizzard. It is nuts! Makes me anxious but the views! I can see how that would be addicting.
Somehow, spelunking seems scarier to me personally. It also seems a lot more "accessible" therefore more relatable when someone gets stuck.
You know how fads are. Today it's brains, tomorrow, pierced tongues. Then the next day, pierced brains.
