Is it normal to get your state refund before federal?

I can't remember from previous years but I thought I always got them both at the same time. I got my CA state refund for $205 just now but not my $650 federal return.

Probably depends on the state but mine always seemed slow and would lag behind Federal. Id get federal back in a week to ten days consistently for years and state would always be around 3 weeks. Ive been having to pay state the last couple years so there is no refund to get.

I just read there's major slowdowns this year and it's normal to get state first.
