Growlithe, Arcanine
Spinarak, Ariados
Gligar
Teddiursa, Ursaring*
Mantine

Ho-Oh is able to learn Sacred Fire

Silver has:
Meowth, Persian
Vulpix, Ninetales
Ledyba, Ledian
Delibird
Phanpy, Donphan*
Skarmory

Lugia is able to learn Aeroblast

*These are switched in the Japanese version but whatever >_> We're looking at the english versions

The legendaries cannot learn their signature moves in the opposing version nor in Crystal. Only in their version.

In HGSS it's tougher because Gligar can evolve.

I chose Gold because of Growlithe/Arcanine, but I generally prefer Lugia to Ho-Oh. Lugia is one of my favorite mythical/legendaries in the entire series

Gold because Arcanine is my favorite Pokemon and I like Gligar alot more than any of the Silver exclusives (aside from Lugia but the gap between Lugia and Ho-Oh for me is a lot smaller than the gap between Gilgar and the rest).

Competitively speaking though, Silver is way better since Skarmory is probably the only one that's particularly good in competitive among the non-legendaries, and IIRC Lugia was better than Ho-Oh as well.

I barely differentiate between the Vulpix/Ponyta/Growlithe lines.

It's nothing special competitively, though it had some use during certain periods in Doubles as an intimidator that could also use Will of Wisp (like early Gen 8 when Incineroar wasn't available). It's just my favorite design.
