(EDIT: the timestamp's acting weird on me, the SfF track kicks in about the 1:47:00 mark)
FF6 is my all-time favorite game with my all-time favorite soundtrack, yet 'Searching for Friends' was never one of my favorites. I appreciate it as being a great track, but I think it was having to listen to it on repeat through all those hours of grinding Tyrannosaurs and Brachiosaurs that kind of numbed me to it.
But damn, they really went all out with the track in the Remaster; starting off in the first verse with the familiar forlorn flute melody and then ramping it up with a full triumphant orchestral backing in the second. This easily one of my new faves on the soundtrack now.
Setzer's Theme also stands out as being a vast improvement - the little "ba-ba-da, ba-ba baa~" flourish they added leading into the familiar "dahhh, da-da dahhh..." (I don't know music terms, lol) really adds a lot to the song.
I honestly can't wait to experience the ending again, I'm crossing my fingers that they nail it soundtrack-wise (and someone here confirmed for me awhile back that they
finally
fixed the syncing issue that has plagued every rerelease of this game since the original SNES version,
really
hope the Remaster doesn't let me down on that front).
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.
