I'm not familiar with this. Looks like a keyboard to me.I got myself into this super niche hobby about 2 years ago lol. This is my first custom build board.

I find the subject extremely confusing. Some do indeed go Clikity-clack Clikity-clack, its all about the switch you use and how you build it. The three types of switches are Linear, Clicky, and Tactile
This is all I think of when I hear 'mechanical keyboard' but apparently it's inaccurate.
Yeah. I have a Rama Works Koyu in Moon with stock Zealios V2 65g switches, Zeal stabilizers lubed with Krytox 205 Grade 0, and custom DSA profile PBT keycaps, as those are the only PBT keycaps I could find in a red color and a HHKB layout. I also have a LEMO cable from Pexon PCs. Spacebar is uneven on one side, because I didn't notice that until I had the board together and I'm too lazy to take it apart and fix it when the key works fine.I like it! This board is just my gaming/everyday keeb. I bought a Daring Run 70 for my work keeb and put DangKeeb Strawberry Milk Tactiles in it. This board I posted a pic of is a mix of Strawberry and Melon Milk tactiles.

Gamefaqs' 4 MB limit on photos is super annoying, so I had to just share it from my Nextcloud server.
I miss the F keys though, so Id like to find a good 75% board. I did the group buy for a Rama Works U80-B but Im not sure thatll be fulfilled at this point.

Not bad, love the soundThey're alright! I've used the Cookies n Cream and the Halu Halu's by Dang so far, and kinda liked those more

I'm looking at maybe trying these out in the future

Looking for something a bit more 'thocky' I may just need to put a piece of foam in this board since I'm only running it with the FR4 plate.
I'm using Prevail Epsilons for the ultimate 'thock'. They're linears though :PI've been looking for a switch that can match that 'thock' of linears but still have a tiny bit of Tactile bump lol. Before I got into custom boards I was running an Epomaker TH98 and had Kailh Box Whites, and those got annoying fast so I swapped to Halu Halus and Cookies N Creams

Its funny how everyone outside of the hobby thinks mechkbs are all just clickies when they're actually the least popular.
Why are so many of the keys censored? It's the keycap set, its called GMK Redacted. Done by a company out of Huntsville, AL. Meant to mimic government redacted documents.
I saw your post on the discord TC ;)Mech Keys? I'm in a few hahaha
Mech Keys? I'm in a few hahahaThat's the one
I've been reading through this thread hoping it would shed light on the subject but I'm still utterly lost. I remember my brother getting a mechanical keyboard like 5 or 6 years ago and I didn't get it then. Is it just a sensory thing? You like the more "button-y" press of a clickier keyboard? Does it function any differently other than how it feels to press the keys? I feel like I've never gotten a straight answer on this lolIt's purely aesthetics, its just a keycap set. Wanted to try a new theme.
I also don't get the redacted keys, is that just an aesthetics thing?

I also work on the computer all day and on my personal machine a lot so I enjoy a custom typing experience ;)

And... about the button pressing? It does feel much different yes! There's a metric crap-ton of different switches out there, you can also adjust the internals by adding foam, etc. to customize the sound exactly to your preference.

My 40% boards, I run lubed Epsilons on one and stock v2 Zeal Zilents on the other:

TC's keycaps are GORE! i get liking the stylized keycaps, but that aint it. At least it's a 100%, i don't understand how people can get by without a numpad. I guess they are exclusively using it for gaming...? Blogging? Even then, I'd rather lose my number row than my numpad.Everyone's got different preferences :) I happen to love them. I wasn't paying $200 for the set when they launched but happily picked them up for half off
also, the anti-premade elitists can pound sand.

Also, pre-builts are trash ;) I used them for years I can attest to this after having 2 customs now lol.
Alice is <3Yeah first 'real' GMK set, I have a few clones already because I'm a cheap bastard. Work keeb is JC Studio which I really enjoy as well.
