Tell me about your first MMO...

Everquest. And probably had the most fun playing that. Then I dabbled in a countless others then went to WOW.
that one didn't have the same effect as Everquest did though amd it fizzled out after a bit. Now i dont play MMOs at all

The game still running for over 25 years, and apparently they made a mobile version 3 years ago but Korea and Japan only.

Fiance and I played it last year for a few says. Seems to be well and alive, albeit it a small community.

All the major MMOs I've spent too much time on, in order:

1. Phantasy Star Online
2. Maple Story
3. Guild Wars
4. World of Warcraft
5. Guild Wars 2
6. Final Fantasy 14

Met my first girlfriend through Maple Story.

Guild Wars 1 is ultimately one of my favorite games of all time, and it's a crying shame that no other games have taken its approach to skills/attributes.

WoW was my first foray into mass event organization and being a sweaty tryhard. TBH playing WoW is what gave me the skills to get through my uni degree.

Guild Wars 2 is a huge disappointment and I cannot recommend it to anyone. You're better off playing FF14.

There's only a narrow range of content worth experiencing in FF14, and it's all the single-player story from the last two expansions.

I missed out on Star Wars Galaxies. The concept seemed so dang cool. I remember reading about it all the time, and what a great idea it was to have a limited number of Jedi on the server.

I was hanging around the game forum here for like a year pre-swg release spending waaaay too much time.

Was wondering if anyone would mention this. My cousins and I were obsessed as preteens lol. Glad that even then I knew that the monetization was complete BS lol
