Don't have Disney+It's on Hulu as well.
Shame its only a mini series.I disagree. A show knowing the story it wants to tell and using a reasonable number of episodes to do it is great. Extending past your creative vision is how things get sloppy.
It's probably more of the same Tokugawa are the protagonists and making the Toyotomi and Ishida that bad guys even though it's the former that usurped power, broke a peace treaty, and burned the last child heir of the Toyotomi to death in order to secure their grip on power.
Hard pass.
And the guy playing Ieyasu has the Sanada name, but Yukimura isn't even one of the characters.... wow.
I'm not really into shounen/live action shounenThen you don't know the abject thrill of Toranaga yelling "Believe it!"
Then you don't know the abject thrill of Toranaga yelling "Believe it!"... the guy from the last samurai?
Give me a comparison. It's quality is on par to what other shows?

Not quite Breaking Bad caliber, but certainly GOT caliber. Easily the best recreation/reimaging of an older property in probably ever.
If you compare it to GoT, it's only fair to compare it to maybe the first 4 or 5 seasons. So far there is no drop off in quality, even as it feels like we're coming close to the end.

Yet, all that stuff Ieyasu did pales in comparison to Toyotomi ordering the invasion of Korea. So I have no problem with any media depicting Toyotomi as the bad guy.Hideyoshi Toyotomi was dead before Ieyasu even tried to usurp power. Ieyasu pretty much copy/pasted most of Hideyoshi's government policies anyway, probably the only reason he never invaded anywhere else was a) he was too busy crushing internal dissent and b) b/c it had already been tried and failed (pretty spectacularly... how does an island empire have such a useless navy, anyway?).
I didn't like the actor who played Blackthorne for the longest but he grew on me by ep 3. Quirked up white boy isekai
watching episode 2 right now
i don't really have any problem with the actor who plays John Blackthorne, but at the same time, whenever he's on screen i can't help but think "mommy, can we have Tom Hardy?" "no, we have Tom Hardy at home" *Tom hardy at home:*
Nestor Carbonell is awesome though
this comments hilarious because I was watching the first episode last night, and I literally thought the same thing. This dude is just a Tom Hardy knock off.
he just looks a lot like him, but not quite
he just looks a lot like him, but not quiteI mean, he also does excessively crazy accent thing here which is Hardy's whole shtick
I'm happy that people are starting to recognize Hiroyuki Sanada.
I'm sorry, what? A Tom Hardy knock off? In what way? They have extremely similar facial structures the first time I saw the dudes face even with his disheveled hair and beard. I immediately thought, Tom Hardy, and then his like false, gruff, gravelly voice that hes using for the characters very similar to the Hardys style of character voicing.
