Alien 3 was the point where the series fell off. Since then, its had a number of chances to right itself and just gets worse and worse. I have no hope for it.

From the looks of it, it probably won't be bad like some of the other entries, but it also probably won't be very interesting either. Just trying to capture the scary feel of the original Alien with a little Aliens style action thrown in.

I'm curious how this comes to be. Is the alien already on the ship? Does a ship mysteriously arrive on the station with the alien?

Could be good, though it could also be a direct to video 1 set film that syfy would produce.

Reminds me of isolation, which is good. I feel its in between 1 and 2 in tone as well, so thats perfect. Im curious

Space station gets infected and a crew goes to check it out and all hell breaks loose. Seems like a slam dunk, gives the original Alien feel with a bit of actiony Aliens if there are still people / androids around.

My friend went to a test screening for this movie...reception was very mixed. It's one of those movies that you will either like or dislike because of the direction they take the movie (big spoilers) your preference is going to be solely based off if you like or hate Aliens Covenant because they are leaning heavily in that direction for this movie. It's set between Alien and Aliens. I don't want to spoil anymore (you can look those up), but that's what my friend told me when he watched it.

Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion, etc) is making the Alien series for FX.

Meh. I want things that expand the lore. If you want a good suspense alien mobie just watch the original.

Same with Predator and partly why that one Predator movie sucks. It was like the og.

Same here. With Prometheus I thought we were moving more into a sci-fi realm with world building instead of cheap scares. Ill reserve judgement and will go see regardless

I'll probably go and see this when it's out. Not to say that I haven't been burned by the more recent Alien films, but I'd be willing to give a new Alien film a chance.

Ridley Scott isn't writing or directing this which is probably for the best given how his Prometheus/Covenant films introduced concepts in one film and aborted them in the next.

It's got the same director that made the 2013 Evil Dead, which IMO was a good movie, so I am interested to see what he can do with this Alien film.
And that blood is so real, because I just can't fake it.

Uhhh meh, just meh.

Where do they want to take this franchise? After Alien:Covenant, they really need to come out the gate swinging. I'll likey wait for reviews/leaks before I commit to any day 1 viewing.

Fede Alvarez doesn't have a long track record but it's pretty solid. I trust him. I imagine they're going for a pretty safe movie and it'll please people that want another Alien movie.
