Money is after tax but if you'll take it you'll have to eat one of Subway's standard Footlong subs every 24 hours.

Would you do it?

This.

Their food isn't amazing, but is it bad? Not at all, so this seems like a weird "drawback".

Why would it be bad? TC didnt specify what would happen if you stop. Presumably this would be by magic anyway.

Anyway, yeah. I would do this for free.
Can it be a flatbread or can I take it apart?

I'm assuming the sandwich is provided.

I used to be quite the fan of Subway. I haven't been in alright around ten years, for two reasons:
1. I just found better sandwich shops.
2. The "Five dollar footlong" promotion which was a boldfaced lie.

But you know, I could totally go for a ham and egg on flatbread a couple days a week, if it were free. Swapping it out for a cold cut combo or a meatball sub on the remaining days doesn't sound too bad either, since I'm getting paid for it.

A part of me wants to asked how long I have to do this for, but honestly, I'm kinda thinking even if it's the rest of my life, I'd be ok with it.

Now, I'm also assuming--and this is no doubt a hilariously unsafe assumption--thar the quality has not degraded in the last decade. Which I probably shouldn't assume, but I'm doing it anyway.

I also assume--and this I would call a SAFE assumption--thar there are exceptions for unusual circumstances. Like if I get stranded in a small town that doesn't have a Subway, for example, I won't get struck by lightning.

How was it a lie?

Because 12 inches and one foot are the same thing.

A "footlong", as Subway intentionally branded it specifically to get away with lying on television, is one of a couple of sandwiches, and does not refer to any 12" sub, even as they appended "ANY ANY ANY" to the end of their jingle:

https://youtu.be/Pt6g9H-KDD0?si=us_9yKVpi__OaILX

But the better 12" subs didn't count as "footlongs" because for some reason they were allowed to get away with that.

It's exactly the same semantics as Chick-fil-A thinking they could get away with saying they invented the chicken sandwich, by simply branding their chicken sandwich as "chicken sandwich." Except in this case, it got you in the door expecting to pay one price before getting bait n switched.

And I'm not even talking about special orders or substitutions. I'm talking a 12" sub on the menu at like $6.50 or whatever.

I like the Meatball marinara ones

Ham & cheese used to be my go to but the Meatball one is supreme.

I'd take the $1.2m.

He means like the Italian bmt specialty sub wouldnt count for the 5 dollar footlongs.

I remember it was like that for a while, but iirc it was only near the beginning or end of when they ran that promotion

None of them were like that. I remember when footings were $3 anyway.
