I enjoyed it and did a second playthrough immediately after. Some of the skillcheck stuff gets kinda annoying, but you can save-scum through it most of the time.
Take me down from the ridge where the summer ends
And watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame

I gave up in the beginning. Thought it'd be more of a point n click adventure game w/ some light rpg stuff. I was wrong.

Not gonna rate it

I've just played a little bit and haven't been able to continue for unrelated reasons, but the dialogue is highly engrossing and interesting from what I've played. Every dialogue option is like "actually yeah, I want to know about this topic".

idk if it would make a difference for you, but it got a major voice acting update some months after release. And it's a proper job, every single text is read aloud, none of that "oh we skip minor dialogue" crap.

It's one of the only fully voiced RPGs that I actually waited for the dialogue to finish before continuing. Phenomenal voice acting.

Great game overall. One of my favorites.

Loved it and I hate that I missed a certain character at the very end and looked it up on YouTube.

Hows the story? Took me awhile to associate the two, but I didnt know how much of Planescape Torment was worn on the sleeve there. I know the whole wake up with amnesia and find out who you are thing isnt really original, but Torment at least had a world of high fantasy to go off of.

Story is very well written, funny and emotional. I didn't get terribly far in Planescape, but the Amnesia in this game is more...grounded? The game is in a fictional setting but it all feels like it could be real. The amnesia plays a good role as a storytelling device.

It wasn't for me, but I really don't have much to say bad about it. I didn't align with the (geo)political, cultural or societal messages it soap boxed. Just wasn't my kind of story. Incredible VA, art, atmosphere, music and sense of place especially for a video game. Just not my flavor.

I only ever played once for a few minutes and managed to hang myself in the first room. It was clear what was going to happen after a little but but I just went with it. I need to give this a legit shot.
