Just curious...
In the Comics, is The Thing annoyed his Superhero name is "The Thing"?

How hard would it have been for it to be the parents doing the dishes while the kids played the game? Then it would've made more sense for them all to be happy.Impossible.
He uses the name as self-deprecating or worse. He named himself that because he feels he's a monster, and sometimes he gets down about it.Makes sense. Thanks!

Initially, her being invisible was meant to denote that she was mostly a non-factor. That's a weird way of looking at it. But that's comic book logic for you. "If the enemy can't see you, you're not in this contest." In real life, the ability to fight unseen would be of tremendous benefit and almost assuredly guarantee victory.Apart from Reed's big brain, she's easily the most powerful on the team. I read a limited solo of hers a few years ago where she was a full on spy, using her light bending powers to change the color of her hair and skin as a disguise at a party and being a general badass with invisibility and forcefields.
But I guess the initial idea was that she was weak and girly and could just disappear from the fight and chime in when needed. What can be said? The character started as a sexist commentary on a woman's perceived place: stay out of things and appear when needed.
Now she's powerful enough that she doesn't really need a team.

That's useful for spying but she was squishy as an average woman and considering what the 4 usually fight, that's not exactly safe. The force fields were a huge boost, and like you gave an example of, writers continue to use them in interesting ways.
Was this before she got forcefield powers?Yes. She got forcefield powers like a year or 2 after this story
Impossible.
Battleship is a game about ships and war and strategy, no way a girl could enjoy that. What girls like is doing dishes with Mommy, that's a fun game for girls.

Having pretty teachers always got me to pay attention more, do more work, and try to do better in general. Pretty works and raised my morale >_>Lol he got suspended for that? I mean he's right but he still shouldn't say it.

Lol he got suspended for that? I mean he's right but he still shouldn't say it.I don't think he got suspended for that post, otherwise it would be gone, right?
Back then, she was either a hostage

or did "girly things"

This is one sexist moment that hasn't been posted yetDamn, imagine being so sexist that even back then people noticed and complained enough for you to make a comic addressing it by basically going "She's moral support, fuck off if you don't like it!"
The team tries to make her feel better. Sure she has the weakest power set, she keeps getting held hostage, and she sits out the biggest adventures, but she is still important, right? Just like Abraham Lincolns mother

Let me guess, the bad guy of the episode manage to capture her because he still can smell her?Actually I don't remember who the bad guy was that issue. But I remember that scene. She was testing out how to fool dogs. She says to herself that dogs can find her when she is invisible, and she is trying to find a scent to hide her from them. She tests it on some dogs the Fantastic Four apparently have in a kennel for some reason but are never mentioned again... and the dogs still smell her

Maybe like with the thing, it is what Susan called him by?No, it's right there in the panel: "I'll call myself Mr. Fantastic".

No, it's right there in the panel: "I'll call myself Mr. Fantastic".Right he will call himself Mr Fantastic instead of Susan doing it, like how Ben is calling himself what Susan called him The Thing.
I remember a cracked article ranking worst superhero husbands and Mr fantastic along with antman were top of the list. What's with marvel and abusive husbandsTo be fair, I don't think modern Reed acts like this. All the examples given in this topic are from the 60s. In a franchise like Marvel, where characters stay the same age across many decades of real time, they evolve as the real world evolves.
