She requested that she watch the drugs go into the disposal box because she wanted to make sure we wouldn't reuse them....

Drugs dont really expire
Huh that's funny I was literally looking at some expired drugs just a few hours ago, was searching for some painkillers and found a muscle relaxant but the label says exp date is 2021.

Debated what I or anyone could possibly do with expired drugs because it's just sitting there on my desk for years gathering dust unused
What they found from the study is 90% of more than 100 drugs, both prescription and over-the-counter, were perfectly good to use even 15 years after the expiration date.

if your drug is in pill form theres no harm in taking after the expiration date, which is an arbitrary date to begin with.

That really depends on the drug. They don't expire like food where they get toxic anyway.

That study was 100 drugs 40 years ago. Some drugs these days are literally paperweights on our shelves if someone accidentally opens the bottle instead of dispensing it whole.

I mean, I can put up with the pain for the next 12 hours until I go to the hospital in the morning and get a doctor to prescribe me something. When it comes to drugs and pills I'm just too nervous to mess around with it, hell taking pills is something new to me since I never even looked at the stuff in my 20s but in my 30s I've taken more pills than any in my lifetime
drugs get less effective if old, everyone knows this. you think a pill from the 90s will still work? no it's sugar by now

the complicated molecules often have a half-life of only a few years. they decay through radiation. most things are a tiny bit radioactive.

muscle relaxers from 2021 are likely still extremely potent.

I would have forced a witness to look directly at me tossing them in the trash or face a report to management.

After that they need to submit a notarized statement that they witnessed it to me for filing.
