The pitch clock complaints are stupid, but theres literally another topic rn about how many teenage pitchers are getting tommy john surgery. MLB pitchers either already had the surgery, or have a high chance of needing it eventually.
Pitching will destroy your arm eventually, so i cant blame pitchers for being bitchy.
a 5-10 second delay between pitches really isn't going to affect whether or not they need surgery with how many pitches they throw anyway. 10 seconds isn't enough time for any muscle to repair itself.
I imagine the majority of teens needing TJ surgery probably plan on throwing after high school, and they're seeing pitchers now throwing for 95+ regularly and thinking they need to do that. eventually they might get to that point, but trying to throw at 90+, especially when these kids are probably practicing more than the pros, is going to be damaging.
