Nimona is a way better movie than I expected it to be. (Spoilers)

I expected to hate it. Nimona was incredibly obnoxious for the first ~5 minutes of her screen time, but then she evened out a bit and became a fun and likeable character. The symbolism and social commentary were incredibly hamfisted in a lot of ways, but overall the delivery was strong and the ending gave me a pretty strong emotional hit.

I'd give it like an 8.5/10, it's very very solid if you can make it through the first few minutes of quirkiness.

I think that my favorite scene in the movie was when the overseer (forget her name) asked Goldenloin how he was doing; and he responds with saying that he's losing it and on the verge of a breakdown, and then it hard cuts and all he actually says is "I'm fine"

Yep, it was surprisingly good, it definitely benefited being more kidified compared to the comic.

Suzume is now on Netflix. Watch that next.

I got into the emotional core of it pretty hard. By the time it got to the flashback at the well, I was weak. It struck me right where it needed to.
