I remember at a Communication class in community college, we had to give a speech on whatever tf we wanted, and this awkward guy in my class gave a speech on why everyone should watch One Piece.Ironically, both of them would be considered "anime" in Japan.
Once it was over, the well-meaning but not-anime-savvy professor chimed in I like SpongeBob Painful all around.
