But the vast majority of restaurants have servers who speak English, at least in Europe. As long as you are polite, they don't mind.
Im a vegetarian, so I might need to read an ingredients list, and if they dont have that (idk each countrys laws), hear the ingredients spoken to me and know the terms for things like broth or ask what type of fat is used.
