Different rules, bal size, pocket size, table size. No numbers on the balls. 12' x6' table. Other than that, similar game.

I take it by that laugh riot comment you have never seen Snooker right?

Snooker is a totally different game compared to Pool and/or Pocket Billiards.

In Snooker the table is 12foot by 6foot compared to 9foot by 4 1/2foot for a Pool table, smaller pockets and smaller balls compared to Pool balls and Pool table pockets.

The idea of the game is to accumulate points to win the frame. You do that by going for a Red ball first which is worth 1 point and then any "coloured ball" which is worth the following Yellow - 2, Green - 3, Brown - 4, Blue - 5, Pink - 6 and Black 7 points.

You keep going Red, colour, red until all the red balls are potted and then you clear the colours in point sequence to win the frame.

Ok joking aside I am not sure what the difference between it and pool are to say for sure.

Only in video game form. I have a billiards game on Switch that has Snooker in it. Turns out Snooker is pretty cool. But I'll probably never have an opportunity to try it in real life. But its a lot more interesting than standard pool

Yeah, I have an 8 foot table in my basement and it just *barely* fits with room all the way around. Most pool halls around me don't have a snooker table unless they are in an old warehouse or something where space isn't an issue. Also, it's a harder game to play by far, so it's not as popular. Maybe 1 or 2 pool halls in my city have one. The Dave and Busters near my house has a 10 footer, but I'm not sure how it plays compared to the real 12' table.

You do need pockets because pocketing the balls is a major part of snooker

Maybe somewhere along the way I heard it uses a larger table than pool and just assumed.

I've played a few times. THe game is crap unless the players are good though

If you're a newb/low skill player, just play basic 8 ball

Well I see some people do not read other peoples posts around here.

If you had bothered to read other peoples posts here before posting you would have seen my post where I have posted 2 videos including one where the player gets the maximum break and I explained the basic rules of the game.

There used to be a snooker bar less than 5 minutes away from my high school.
Spent a lot of time there skipping classes, playing snooker and drinking beer as nobody really cared about age restrictions back then

Unfortunately snooker tables cost thousands of dollars. I just think snooker is more interesting than pool. Its like chess vs. checkers
