I'm replaying the Halo games on legendary. Just finished Halo 4. *spoilers*

Why didnt the Didact come back in Halo 5 or Infinite? He was a pretty good villain and his death didnt feel definitive.

Also as annoying as the Prometheans are, Halo 4 wasnt nearly as bad as I remember.

3 > 1 > Reach > 2 > 4 > ODST

He came back in a comic book that came out between 4 and 5 and was killed off for good iirc

The biggest problem with the 343 Halos is they just wipe the slate clean after each entry and it becomes a mess trying to connect them together when theyre clearly supposed to be connected. Infinite/6 was supposed to be the spiritual reboot where they continue the story but sort of forget/write off the stuff no one liked or cared about.

Somehow I doubt Halo 7 will actually continue the story.

He fell off a light bridge into nothingness before the nuke went off. It could easily be written that he fell though a slipspace rupture and survived.

All I remember from the other 343 games is Cortana is the villain in 5 and some brute is the baddie in Infinite.

Id be happy if they picked up the forerunner/Didact plot for Halo 7 but I wont get my hopes up. Id also be happy with Atriox and Halo Wars 3.
