Nothing wrong with liking what you like but there is way too much good music and beautiful people out there to obsess over just one person.
did I say that? i don't think that's what i said.
I assumed that was your implication because there a lot of people who do think that
was just linking brand new music by a cool band to try and maybe help tc escape being a swiftie.
whats wrong with being a swiftie tho
here's some brand new music by an amazing band featuring dope people who actually write their own music and play their own instruments -seems kinda silly to imply Taylor Swift doesn't write her own music or play any instruments tbh

also what's with people who suggest that solo pop musicians need to produce and perform every aspect of their music? Not for nothing but it's usually women pop singers that people take issue with. Even most of the most acclaimed solo musicians of all time had co-writers and session musicians
It's incredibly common for pop musicians to not write their own music (or, at least not all of it in her case), or play the instruments required to produce the music themselves. I dunno why this would even be a remotely controversial take. Its common for solo musicians of all genres, so I dont know what the purpose of criticizing her for it is imo

NOT common for many metal artistsi mean, the song you posted was the product of four musicians/songwriters, presumably.
edit: also, again, the topic title is a PLEA FOR HELP, not just saying they like tswift. if this was just a "i love twift yay" topic, i'd never have posted at all, i don't care that much.

they probably had someone else do production, mixing, engineering, etc

I had that problem once about 6 years back. Spend some time around diehard Swifties and youll no longer be one, I promise
Generally, w/ metal bands, the band themselves - sometimes more often just one of them - writes all the shit, and then they play it. Like, if they needed a female vocalist, you'd grab a session artists, and that'd be that.
No one cares about the mixing, that was never part of the discussion. For posterity, tho, for that album, the only other credits are
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/b/b9e7fff0.png
and Heri is known for generally writing all their stuff, tho it isn't credited, specifically, here, i'm sure if you had the physical album w/ it'd be there.
As much as TR would have liked to write, rehearse, and record with a symphony, scheduling conflicts made it impossible. So they did the next best thing. Joensen sent the bands ten thunderous compositions to a Danish colleague, Lars Winther, in England, who added the orchestral samples, paying close attention to the tone and tempo of the songs so the violins, violas, cellos, woodwinds, and horns complimented the traditional rock instruments. When the samples were all in place, the album sounded impressive, but the tones werent perfectly blended. So, TR sent the album to veteran producer Jacob Hansen ( Volbeat , The Black Dahlia Murder , Amaranthe ) in Denmark to put together the final mix.

I mean,
https://www.metalblade.com/us/news/tyr-battle-ballads-full-length-out-today-on-metal-blade-records/
so at least six people we involved in creating the sound of these songs.
When people criticize pop singers for this shit they usually have a problem with producers being credited as co-writers e.g. "this taylor swift track has 5 credited songwriters".
imo it's dumb to denigrate solo musicians for collaborating. most music is a collaborative process
Sounds just like every Viking/Nordic metal band ever.I agree, but lets not pretend that Taylor doesnt sound like every other generic pop artist ever
since you've suddenly gotten super busy, i'll link it, cuz it's mind boggling how many cooks are in this kitchen lmaoas a solo artist she can choose to collaborate on a track by track basis. Like any band she typically has a core couple collaborators that she works with for the majority of the tracks, and then brings in session musicians as appropriate on a track-by-track basis. I don't see how that's any different from, as I posted above, Ozzy's "solo" material
for just her DEBUT album -

I'd have the exact same complaint about Ozzy / Dickinson's solo careers, both of which pale in comparison to the bands they're famous for....except she writes all her songs
Taylor Swift is a singer. If you removed her vocals from her albums, she might have like 1% of the content remaining that she's had a hand in (lmao her heartbeat on that one song xD). She's a completely negligible piece the pop music system. You could replace her with literally anyone and just tell people it was still her and it would still work.

I've been finding myself enjoying he songs more and more lately.

like there are some pop musicians you could argue this about--probably less than you think though--but Taylor Swift is definitely not one of them. I'm not even a big fan or anything, it's just a dumb thing to denigrate her for. And tbh it's the kind of criticism you see almost exclusively directed at women pop stars. Like no one shits on Michael Jackson for having done the exact same thing
here are the credits for a devin townsend "solo" album

my friend is said die hard Swiftie. Its very cringe and she's used phrases and song lyrics in conversation which is what really turned me off from wanting to like her but I feel like listening to the songs and people are really always finding reasons to complain about her.
