I have an account because I have THAT ONE FRIEND who refuses to take normal frickin phone calls.

He even has phone service. He just answers and asks me why I didn't discord him.
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.

To be fair, unless you're in an area with particularly bad wifi, VOIP sounds way better than phone calls.
