New Baldur's Gate 3 update news + update on Larian's future

Pretty cool they're still adding narrative stuff. But more interesting is that they're claiming the next game they're working on is the best game they've ever made. Most studios say shit like this but most studios didn't release something like BG3 lol Tbh I thought they'd dial back a notch and a half for their next release.

as much as I love Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2, I hope their next game won't be in a medieval Europe inspired setting.

They're working on two games atm. I'm guessing one will be fantasy and one will be sci-fi but who knows where tf they'll go. Both are apparently original IPs.

I'm mostly excited for the official modding tools, people have done amazing things just by unpacking the game files and editting those, but official support could give BG3 a nearly infinite lifespan; similar to how people are still running campaigns in Neverwinter Nights to this day. With crossplay, map character and item mods and a DM feature you could literally just play Dungeons and Dragons with your friends on the computer...
