Just make it an anime from the get go.
An anime would probably make more sense than an AI using humans as "batteries" when they literally have fusion reactors.
Yes, I know some of the supposed things that were the ORIGINAL concept but that doesn't matter since they chose to go with "humans are batteries" in the end.
