The problem is that in order to believe it was indeed intentionally racist, you'd have to assume that the largely Korean/Japanese/etc. developers employed by Sony were trying to insert this very western/American racist dog whistle into their video game. Because, you know... the entire world views race relations through an American lens. Duh.

American and other first-language English speakers knowing what the "hard r" means? Yeah, of course most of us get it. But the developers of this game? C'mon. I highly doubt they just wanted to get a kick out of inserting implied bigoted language into their game.

Now, should it have been changed? I really don't care. To me, the game never looked interesting enough to buy in the first place.
