Only one side cares about "sticking it to the other side", the counter side to that wants to mitigate/prevent the harm that side seeks to achieve.
That "counter side" is also complicit for the degradation of the system albeit differently from the lunatic side.
Instead of cutting it off at the head, they took a "wait and see approach" to something that snowballed beyond their control. That complacency didn't create the problem but it absolutely gave it the fuel to grow and their utterly stagnant leadership is doing it again.
As far as I'm concerned, they ALL need to go.
