Not a vague loose retelling of a comic book story that is completely different to how the story was told in the comics with many alterations to the characters and plot.

I want the actual dialogue from the comics to be spoken on screen, by the same characters in the same scene. You would literally be able to follow the cartoon by reading the comic book. The only thing the show runner would do is to work out how to animate the comic book panels in motion and how to transition from one panel to the next. The writing is already done for them.

That sounds largely terrible. But soon you will be able to have that. Eventually, you will get AI-assisted cartoons from fans.
Holy crap! How have I not set a signature for the message boards yet?

Id rather have what I just proposed than what we are getting currently.

Even X-Men 97 doesnt tell the full story as it was in the comic books.

look at The Killing Joke animated. No one asked for the love scene with Bats and Barb.

I don't understand the hate. Let comic book fans finally get a straight up adaptation. You cartoon watchers have getting your share for decades. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles started off as a violent comic book. It would be great to see The Last Ronin or OG TMNT get animated. but no . we got to appease 90's kids!

Just read the comic.

look. it's because of comic book fans you even have movies and shows to enjoy. show some respect and stop thinking you're better because you never read a comic book.

I would love a scene in Civil War with Daredevil with a subtitle on the top of the screen saying "This is just Iron Fist dressed as Daredevil. We would explain but there isn't enough space."

That's pretty much what most manga-based anime does.

The problem with cartoons is that for the longest time, they've had to be kid-friendly, and lot of the content in comics--especially after the Comics Code Authority stopped having oversight on comics--isn't.

You talking to me? I've read tons of comics. It would be one thing to translate a comic directly into live action to see what it would look like in real life but a cartoon, with a similar art style to comics, with the exact same beats and dialogue is basically the comic equivalent of an audio book.

Comics don't translate to animation 1:1 all that well.

look at Anime. they are pretty much 1:1 translations from manga and it's doing fine.

Pretty sure there's not peace and joy between anime and manga fans about, like, most of the adaptations.

yeah, manga is usually better but most of the time the scenes and characters are mostly the same.

Comic books are even often different with other comic books despite having the same character.

Nah, I'm cool with loose retelling that get the tone and themes more or less right. Let the cartoons do their own thing.

This is the correct take.

Fortunately you can skip that part then it's pretty accurate to the comic.

I get what they where trying to do. For those less familiar with Batgirl they needed something so we'd feel more sorry for her later.

To be honest I'm more irritated they gave her her own joker like villain to contend with sure he wasn't close enough to the same but it was there.
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process
