and had the better themes as well. Great game.
Great theme, loved the whole idea of BioShock, the games were not fun though. OOOOH MAGIC POWERS
OOOH WEIRD BOLT GUN
OOOOH BIG DADDY SAVE ME DADDY Kinda creepy with that shit, too
Hard disagree.
He's all alone through the day and night.
Bioshock 1- Spiritual successor to System Shock 2, which is supposedly a very good game . Cool theme. Podcast-format storytelling before podcasting got crazy huge. A Themepark shooter.

Bioshock 2- Asset flip. Generally a better shooter. Minerva's Den is a standout DLC. The Sad Murder Dad game before the God of War reboot.

Bioshock Infinite- Don't play this. It doesn't exist, just like Other M.
It had the better gameplay, but it didn't match up in basically every other capacity.

Lamb wasn't that engaging a villain, the atmosphere wasn't as oppressive, the environments weren't as interesting...

I dug the whole "fatherhood" theme and I liked some of the characters, but it just barely misses on so many targets.

the first one is the only one i beat. too scary

second one i got to the last level and got bored

3rd one looked lame so i didnt try

i dont care for bioshock, but i do credit the first one with helping games be recognized as a serious and respected medium. that and gears 1 were the games that put games on the map, imo

as in like, got the public at large to turn their nose up a whole lot less
My fate was the grandest, most brilliant of them all.

Infinite is so bad. Like, the game itself is fine, whatever. It works.

The story is just Babys first game that makes you think, and everything is such base-level tripe. Like, this is like when we were in high school and thought anime, KH, or Invader Zim spoke to us on another level.

It may have had some better gameplay implementations (the biggest one that jumps out to me is the improved camera/research system), but that wasn't nearly enough to overshadow the introduction to Rapture that the original gave us. The atmosphere in the original was unforgettable and the main reason why it will always be my favorite. Plus, it's difficult for me to suspend the disbelief that the sequel's villain, a character who they portray as Ryan's very vocal and public antithesis, was never once mentioned in the original.

i loved playing as a mage though. no guns

No. 1 > 2 > Inifinite

I do love all 3 tho
Hmm...
The first one just isn't as good on repeat playthroughs, it depends wholly on the spectacle of introducing you to Rapture and the big twist at the end. Take both away and the game doesn't have as much. The gameplay in 1 is woefully worse than 2 and I think 2's themes hold up better.

Also, I despise Andrew Ryan as a character, so the fact that Bioshock 2 has 3 different characters that constantly mock him in their audio diaries (Sinclaire, Lamb, and Fontaine) is just lovely.
As the morning sun rises, my lingering memories fade. I no longer see your silhouette. It's too far gone into the haze.
1-story, plot twists, atmosphere
2- gameplay, combat, emotions, Minerva's Den
Infinite-uh.... Elizabeth

I would say part 2 had better gameplay, the plot and setting was a huge step down from part 1 though

Well, sure, you can play 2 and watch everyone club him with the hilarious failures of objectivism.

Or you could play 1 and actually club him.

I am surprised but glad to see a lot of unpopular opinions about Infinite. I remember people raving to the hills about how great that game was. It started out strong but once the action actually starts it just becomes a generic shooter.

Infinite's biggest disappointment, gameplay-wise, was how the rails carry no momentum. I never felt a sense of speed, when I was really hoping to feel like a steampunky spidey.

I feel like Infinite's reputation has really soured over the years. I played it maybe five years after release, thought it was a big letdown compared to the first two, and found that a ton of people online agreed with me.

The first Bioshock is one of my favorite games, and Rapture was a delight to explore. It has some of the best level design I've seen in a game. I replayed it not too long ago, and while the gameplay is a bit rough, it was still enjoyable.

Bioshock 2 I've replayed about four or five times. The level design isn't as good (siren's alley and pauper's drop were cool), and by the end they're straight-up bad, but the gunplay is super fun and still holds up.

The story is..... unfortunately not as good, but I attribute that to the developers apparently being rushed to get a sequel out the door. The characters were all interesting, but I feel weren't utilized properly. Lamb started off as an intriguing character, and I liked how different she was from Ryan, but by the time the game comes to an end, she's just an obnoxious villain who's story falls flat. Sinclair kind of surprised me, given that he's presented as such a bastard in his logs and winds up actually being helpful and not backstabbing Delta at all. His arc ends a little too abruptly though.

I feel that 2 is a very underrated game, and with a longer development cycle could've been phenomenal. Still love it though and think it gets too much flak. Minerva's Den is one of the best DLCs I've played too.

Infinite fucking sucked though. Holy shit.
infinite was fun
cool story imo

havent played the DLC i should do that one day
The power it holds can bring either salvation or destruction at the whim of the user - Aura
1 = 2 = 3

they all bring something to the table
Infinite is pretty cool gameplaywise until you get far enough in to realize that there's basically very little difference in the weapons that you can carry only two of anyway. I did like the setting though, alternate Rapture in the sky instead of underwater and in a different time period. Was also pretty neat seeing early 1900s interpretations of modern culture they observed through the tears. But it did try a little too hard to be "deep" with the story

I was playing it the other day in 1440p. God damn it looked better then a lot of modern games and it was still just as fun as I remember

Infinite is best played trying to speed run it. I'd play it on normal or hard mode. The 1999 mode is unnecessarily hard and the optimal playing style is really boring, It just becomes a cover shooter without the mechanics

It's obviously embarrassing in hindsight but Bioshock Infinite's ending somehow blew me away.

i thought it was the easiest to play. i beat it without any trouble. i personally found 1 to be very difficult to play (i lose interest so quickly and i don't want to keep playing), and infinite never interested whatsoever. so i kinda disagree although i would say 2 isn't actually a great game, especially that story.

Correct. These are excellent reasons as to why. The only things the first game does better aside from this are atmosphere and level design, but its not like 2 is bad at those, and its worlds better in everything else.

Story wise, they were damned if they did, damned if they didnt with 2. If they did another big twist, it wouldnt have landed because people were expecting one, and theyd have been accused of copying BioShock. So they chose a more character focused story and got lambasted for not doing a big twist.

Also, Minerva's Den is so fucking good. I played it for the first time a year or two ago.

Infinite is so fucking bad. I finally got all the achievements so aim never touching that shit again.
