I support these guys right to protest but some of them need to touch grass. Theres a video going round of a college student crying because the police arent letting humanitarian aid in to the protestors. Thats literally what she called it because they werent letting a pizza delivery through. Ill see if I can dig it out.

No, it'd probably be better for all involved if you just left the topic.

Because I can accept despite supporting the protests in general stuff like the incident I referenced above actually does their goals a disservice?

Fucking Biden. He's supposed to say that he fully understands the plight of the protestors against his current foreign policy decisions and the calls for people to withhold support for Democratic politicians like himself over it, and that he supports their every means of protesting. How dare he suggest a method of protesting is going too far?

God forbid a window gets broken though.
Storming a building and breaking property is not shining move to do.

All its doing is asking for the authorities to get involved, and providing low hanging fruit for those to vilify your entire cause.

It's also insane to act surprised when the authorities get involved, after you start damaging property or storming into property you were told to leave.

Condemnation of how these people are deciding to shoot themselves in the foot in what they call protesting =/= all protesting is bad.

Speaking of people shooting themselves in the foot, biden is doing a great job of blowing away both legs of his presidential campaign by supporting genocide. Oh, but you have a million excuses for why supporting genocide is fine and would rather lecture people on how to protest properly.

Biden being a sensible President as usual. Ready to cast my vote for him in November.

It's the Democratic party that likes to shoot itself in the foot during an election year with ammo provided by the GOP. Biden trying to cautiously navigate through this country's current favored stance of defending Israel despite the wishes of a very vocal faction is not shooting himself in the foot.

Your argument is basically demonstrating you don't know how to protest effectively to begin with. You are misconstrueding "Hey, how about not destroying property so the protest doesn't draw in the wrong attention like you know, the authorities. For you to then act surprised destroying of property tends to bring in the authorities to forcefully stop it" to....... "all protests are bad."

All they are doing by storming the building and breaking property is providing low hanging fruit for Newsmax, Fox and the likes to point at them every time Jan6ers are brought up.

What you are protesting becomes background noise, because to no surprise the new topic of discussion becomes about the obvious of the authorities being called to shut it down and violent protestors not cooperating.

The message of the protest gets lost and tends to resonate more with those who already supported it. Resonating with those who already support and getting bad attention by those who dont support your methods, is not winning over new people. You also may not like hearing this, it also hurt those who support your cause.

The police were already cracking skulls before any property was occupied. The message was already being maligned before then, including by nearly the entire "liberal" media.

This is not the first time that student protesters have occupied a building in order to protest a huge injustice that their government or school was complicit in and it doesn't make them any less right, except to people who value propriety and property over human life. And the vast majority of those people already hated these protesters or any student protesters.

This is the worst type of liberal, white moderate method policing. If this causes someone to lose the message of the protest and to stop caring about genocide, that's a problem with that person's values, not the protesters.

Brother, Fox and Newsmax were already condemning these protests even when they were absolutely peaceful. The message of these protests was already misrepresented by even liberal media before last night.

The fact that you think a protest has to remain perfectly peaceful and docile to have any impact runs counter to almost all protests in history.

As a matter of fact, Ive seen infinitely more people this morning talking about how horrific it is that the police (and the counter protestors at UCLA) were the real violent forces last night. Which is great. It's gotten some people talking about it.
Sigs are for losers.
There are two post on the front page complaining about the protsters... kind of reminds me of this shirt.

I agree, it's an issue with someone's values. But...do you think that all the people in the US have good values? I sure don't. I think many have horrible values, but I still need them to vote for policies that I want so I'm going to do what I comfortably can to appeal to them. Obviously, to an extent. But still.

And regarding civil disobedience. Like, the whole point of civil disobedience is to break an unjust law and suffer the unjust punishment of that law. Civil disobedience to some extent requires being arrested and punished. Because it then leads to people talking about bad cops such as:

People sitting in their mommy's basement telling protestors how to protest is pretty fucking funny. Disregard the fact that many of these kids have spoken to previous protestors from the Vietnam War protests to the South African protests to the Iraq/Iran War protests. And yet these basement dwellers still talk shit about these kids echoing the same bullshit people on the wrong side of history said during those protests in the past.
